The Eastern New York Dressage & Combined Training Association (ENYDCTA) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the equestrian sports of Dressage and Combined Training.
ENYDCTA was incorporated on January 26, 1978, with only 25 members. Since then, the club has gone through many changes and has grown to nearly 200 members. Although it has members throughout the northeast, ENYDCTA serves a general territory stretching north to Warrensburg, south to Rhinebeck, east into Massachusetts, and west to Otego, NY.
ENYDCTA is a Group Member Organization of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF, Region 8) and an affiliate of the United States Eventing Association (USEA, Area 1). ENYDCTA is committed to serving its members by promoting dressage and combined training and by improving the skills and abilities of horse and rider. Members of ENYDCTA also become individual members of the USDF and receive many benefits from this organization as well, including discounts on national dressage publications; the opportunity to compete for USDF year-end, all-breed, and rider-achievement awards; and the opportunity to attend dressage judges' forums and instructor-certification programs.
ENYDCTA offers various member benefits which include the monthly newsletter, The Piaffe Flyer, educational clinics and lectures, discounts on club sponsored events, an adult summer camp, opportunities to compete in team events, scholarships, and year-end awards. ENYDCTA also provides competitive opportunities for its members through its annual dressage and combined training two-phase schooling shows, a club Fun Show, Dressage at Saratoga and the USEA Area 1 Old Chatham Horse Trials.
